LESSON 2!! Bunny jumps on to the BOW

 We have a wonderful new "batch" of children and plan to have lots of fun as we start a very unique and special new adventure in orchestra class . Welcome to all!

TIMES: Beginners arrive at 4:30pm. Please enter quietly so as not to disturb the first lesson.

              Continuing students start 3:45 pm


REMINDERS:
  •  Rental fees are due this week: $150 per year for all instruments. Please call if there is any special arrangement required. 905-459-9606
  •  VERY gentle handling of instruments in the cases as you bring them back to class.

INSTRUMENTS ARRIVE THIS WEEK

HELLO PARENTS AND "MATT" CHILDREN

 We were pleased Tuesday to see so many  children excited about the wonderful new adventure of ORCHESTRA strings!
We have 2 new cellists, several violinists and we hope,  2 violas in the wings. More on that later!

This week, RETURNING STUDENTS will arrive at 3:45 as usual,with stands, books,and instruments to be checked and re-rented, followed by your first class.
NEW STUDENTS only  arrive  at 4:30 pm to meet with Marion and fill in  the paperwork for instrument rentals.


All rentals are $150.00 for the year-cash please. 

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:
1. Parents are responsible for care and safety of the instruments, and any repairs required. You may wish to insure it under your home-owner's insurance policy

2. For best performance results, we ask that one parent/guardian, always the same person if possible, attend the sessions to learn:
(a.) care and maintenance of instruments to avoid damage
(b) how to support the child's progress and learning
(c) what homework/practice is required each week

Lessons are $25 for 6 lessons. We require advance payment for 12 lessons
ie. $50 per student cash only please

At registration you will need to pick a 1st and 2nd choice instrument
you would like to play: violin, viola, or cello

FALL REGISTRATION STARTS THIS TUESDAY

We anticipate a great new season of Music- making with continuing and brand new students starting into the world of the String Orchestra .
Check out You-Tube for  ideas for instrument choice- violin, viola or cello. Be sure to choose two so we can have a balanced orchestra- half violins/half viola and cello.
On YOU TUBE Yo Yo Ma -the world's most famous name in cello playing-will show you what the cello can do! But there are so many more cellists, violists, and  violinists to check out as you decide what  your two  favorites will be.  You might also find the National Youth Orchestra of Canada or El Systema Orchestra from Caracas Venezuela- spectacular!!!

This Tuesday June 28 marks the official end of term for the Music At The Towers program
ALL students are required to meet Ms. Currie and Mrs. Adams at the Party Room at 3:45 pm
to complete one of the two  following activities:

1. Sign up for summer use of instrument and book and two private sessions. Cost is $25 for the summer, to be paid in cash Tuesday.

2.Return instruments and books.

For those continuing through the summer, the available lesson times are shown below. Please come prepared to sign up for your two slots on Tuesday.

PARTY TIME

Thus Tuesday, class will be held as usual, then (if it's not raining) off we go to our year-end party at Ms. Currie's house.  We'll share Pizza, and  Ice cream . AND drinks will be kindly provided by Mrs. Monalang. For those who know how to swim and want to go into the water, remember your parent or guardian must supervise you while in the water. There is a change house -bring your suit and towel.

 Music reading has started- what a great sight it was to see all eyes on the notes for the very first time! Your progress continues! Be sure to practice- review and correct(fix),including Twinkle!!- at least four times per week.What a great feeling to know you GOT IT- PERFECT!

The next week, the last Tuesday in June, we meet again at the usual time- bring your calendar of summer events- sign up for your 2 summer private lessons included with the summer $25 cash instrument fee. We hope all students will take advantage of this opportunity to gain some ground musically over the summer. But if not, instruments will be collected till September session starts.
