PARENTS' NOTICE BOARD
Parent Teacher Discussions: In the next few weeks, appointment times to be planned ahead during private lesson time for Intermediates and Advanced, please share thoughts re: child's progress, your suggestions etc.
For Beginners, a Tuesday time will be arranged where necessary.
Important Dates:
TWO Year End Concerts -Tuesday, June 16th
4 pm rehearsal for all. Concerts: 5 pm and 7:30 pm
Please decide which time you would like to invite your family/friends to attend. Please sign Claudia's list for tickets for that time. First come, first served.
All children will perform both concerts.
Refreshments - Parents will be asked to organize and provide light refreshments for your guests after concerts.
Once tickets are assigned this can be set up.
YEAR END POOL PARTY
The last MATT class/Year-end Party will be Tuesday June 23rd. All students attend at 4pm, then gather for pool party, and refreshments, at Ms. Currie's home very close to Towers. Details to follow.
Possible Performance: Classic Car show in Mall parking lot-

THIS WEEK'S HOMEWORK
Beginners:
1. Review note reading thoroughly every day- practice and review AFS from #3 to #25. IF YOU CAN PLAY #22, 23 AND 25 WITH NO MISTAKES, YOU ARE READY TO MOVE INTO #26- NEW this week.
2. Review Twinkle Long Bows and Miss Hot dog.
NEW: I stop and you stop: DD rest D AA rest A BB rest B etc.
3. Review Lightly Row- short short long. etc.: half bows for short and whole bows for long:
Intermediates:
1. Skaters Waltz: New: bars 25 -52 quarter note melodies -very smooth bowing
2. New Viva la Vida: practice the rhythm on open strings AT FROG of bow. Practice the correct down and up bows.
Then add notes:bars 1 to 13 violin 1 bars 13 to 20.
3. Review D and G scales with long smooth bows for perfect position, grip and tuning.
4. Continue learning the notes of MacPherson
Review other concert pieces.
Advanced
1. Viva la Vida: practice the rhythm on open strings AT FROG of bow.
Practice the correct down and up bows.
Then add notes:bars 1 to 13 violin 1 bars 13 to 20.
2. Sonata by Scarlatti: Practice each eighth note bar separately, with perfect tuning and smooth sound.
3. Continue learning Bach Air- aim for very smooth long in tune eighth notes
3.Continue perfecting the notes of Fiddle Dance and MacPherson.
