CLASS TIME PARENT MEETINGS THIS Tues. May 2 and Wed May 3 : 

PARENTS: Book your time to be present, during your child's class, 
at this important meeting in the lunch room.
re: CURRENT MATT BOARD  INITIATIVES- which involve all of us!


Sat. MAY 27 : Pencil in Saturday May 27 for a possible MATT fun - fundraising event, now being planned. 
Sat June 10: TENTATIVE: ADVANCED STUDENTS O Canada, in Garden Square 

THINKING AHEAD about CONCERT PREPARATIONS:

NB: ALL students participate in the concert and dress rehearsal- the most important event of the MATT year! Advance notice must be given to Yogita and Ms. Currie if unable to attend for any reason.

1. Location of June 6 rehearsal 5pm and June 13 CONCERT 4:30 arrival / 6pm Concert is Holland Christian Homes, 7900 McLaughlin Rd. Plan to arrive no later than start time. Parking is difficult- car pool if possible. Make your travel arrangements today! Notify Yogita if you need a ride.


2. Concert dress: purple MATT t-shirts with colorful or black skirt/pants, dress shoes
3. What to bring: music stand with name on it, instrument
4. Music to bring: Folder, containing only concert music - hand in all other items before .



END OF YEAR IMPORTANT MATT DATES: 
  1. June 7 Dress rehearsal  5 pm to 7pm
  2. June 13:  Final Concert  (4:30 arrival 6pm concert).
  3. June 21:  Year End Party  at Ms Currie's home 4-to 6 pm

2. CONCERT  FINALE :PALLADIO:  WiIl work on this Tuesday write in note names find your rhythms, practice playing those bars You are going to love this piece!
                                   

 3. CONCERT:  Long, long ago:  ALL lines to be learned well , with correct short and long bows

                
  4 D scale- Listen for perfect tuning of notes; Check sitting /standing position, bow grip, straight bow, whole bows

 5 CONCERT: Review Twinkles : To play in JUNE CONCERT Long Bows
                                           Mississippi Hot Dog- middle bow  
                                           Run Pony  full and short bows

           *Watched  it on YOU TUBE YET? THIS HELPS to learn the melody -everyone plays it

       3.Scale of G - TWO octaves
        CONCERT: Besame Mucho - Continue to work on : ALL, with correct repeats,
                                - remember to work on HARD parts most!

       4.. CONCERT: Grieg "Holberg Suite": Gavotte practice style changes 

      5. Scale of F major.  2 octves plus all notes above  in 1st position
          CONCERT FINALE :PALLADIO 
          Learn 16th note bars one at a time- slow, then quick, till they become fun to play!

       6. CONCERT ENSEMBLES.  Vivaldi group. preparing ALL for Concert performance

The Saturday April 29, "Blockbusters" Concert features familiar show tunes and classical hits as well. 
Give your young musicians the chance to see their instrument in action- Its inspiring!
