PARENT NOTES

December class Activities:

1. WEEK II beginning Dec. 10: Regular classes and private lessons. 
     

2. No private lessons NEXT week, Dec 17 to 21
CLASSES:
Tues. December 18 - regular times -no instruments
Thurs Dec.20:- no classes; Thursday students attend the Tuesday classes.                                      Beginners: 4:30 and Intermediates: 5:15- no instruments
Special activities will take place in classes Tuesday December 18- 
  No instruments requiredSmall ensembles are invited to play for the students
         
Snacks: We have goodies left from Friday night concert, but if you'd like to bring a small snack to share with the class, that would be great.

THANKYOU to  Students, and Parents! for TOWERS CONCERT! Well done!
We were very happy to have a good audience last night. MATT students who performed did so well, even with so many missing! The Towers Management was very happy to have us. Thank you to Malu and Rafal for setting up such a happy atmosphere and providing refreshments for us last night.

MATT  CONCERT PROCEDURES  DEC  7th- Shoppers World

FRIDAY  Dec. 7: Shoppers World “Medix Court.”-enter Charolais- nearest door to Towers
             There will be parents posted at the door, to direct you to the                                 green room for tuning/coat &case drop off.
             TUNING:  ALL GO IMMEDIATELY TO “Green room”
      Advanced.: Arrive 6:15 drop off cases and coats tune in STAGE AREA
      Intermediates.  Arrive 6:15 tune in GREEN ROOM
      Beginners.  Arrive 6:40 tune in GREEN ROOM

 CONCERT 7 to 7:45 pm

Two classes remaining before  Winter Break:
1. Tues. Dec. 11, or Thurs. Dec. 13: Regular classes and private lessons. 
     Small Ensembles invited to perform for your own class and others.
Let Ms Currie (re:Tuesday classes) and Amir (re:Thursday classes) know if you would like to play for another class beside your own.

2. Tues. December 18, or Thurs Dec.20 .Special activities will take place .
No private lessons Classes held at regular times. No instruments required 
         We welcome small snacks to share with others in your class.

 MATT Calendar,  there are no MATT classes or lessons from Dec 22 to Jan 6.
 MATT resumes lessons and classes January 7th.

2. Dec 6th Concert at Towers: 6:30- 8pm is ON!!  THEREFORE

      DEC . 6 THURSDAY CLASSES Dec 6 MOVED to Tuesday- same times. 
                 Private lessons cancelled

PARENT HELP IS NEEDED Friday Dec 7th .Please sign with Yogita to help with something: supervision, bring refreshment etc.

No stands required

Please meet Ms. Currie in Party room Thursday at 5pm to pick up ordered tickets
IF NOT, you will need to meet a MATT parent, "Linette" in the BOX OFFICE area Saturday at 7pm to receive them. Do not be late.

  • CORRECT BOWINGS
  • Practice cuts to move from last bar before cut to next section easily.
  • Practice quick passages in slow sections, then connect and increase to speed required

2.Mozart EINE KLEINE NACHTMUSIK
  • CORRECT BOWINGS
  • Work to be comfortable and in tune in all HARD BARS
  • Work on continuous timing- no slowing down. Use a metronome.
  • work on light style
  • work on decrescendo endings
3. DEEP RIVER:
  • CORRECT BOWINGS
  • Work on opening- ENERGY
  • Work on bar 35 to 40  ENERGY
