PARENT NOTES
A SPECIAL THANK YOU :
Thank you to Kalpi Patel, our Advanced Class Concertmaster, and Leah Tiwari, Advanced Class 1st Violinist, for helping with classes during the Parent Meetings. They are on track to become Mentors in the MATT program!
1. PARENT MEETINGS YESTERDAY and TODAY: Many Parents of all Class levels took advantage of the parent Meetings yesterday, to stay on top of the latest MATT developments. A 6 month Calendar was distributed so that ALL parents can clearly keep track of classes, lessons and Concerts till June. If you did not attend, it is crucial that you pick one up next week.
2 BEGINNERS' LESSON SIGN UP will be completed today, Wednesday January 18th. It looks likely that Beginners's will be able to start Private lessons the first week of February ,which will be a WEEK 1. Make sure you know whether your lesson is WEEK 1 or WEEK 2. (Private lessons are every two weeks - about 2 each month)Your calendar will show you the dates of all WEEK 1 and WEEK 2. Mark all your lessons onto your calendar, and remember -do not miss any! These lessons are a privilege, to support your child's progress.- crucial to success. Read Absence document (handed out at meeting) for required notice for any Lesson absence due to illness- 6 hours notice is required!
3. IMPORTANT DATE: February 11, 8pm ROSE ORCHESTRA CONCERT, with ROSEBUDS. ALL students should attend- they are performing our FINALE piece for June Concert!
Deadline for ticket order is Jan 31st.. Sign up starts this week Jan. 17th. ALL students are required to attend a minimum of one Rose O performance to receive year end Certificate.
4. WEATHER DAYS: MATT does not close for inclement weather. IF you cannot attend, your responsibility is to call and let us know MATT office: 905 497 2220. Then you avoid an absence mark. Yogita Returns Feb 1st. She will be receiving messages about any lateness or absence.
5. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: We can not award certificates to those who miss more than 3 classes, since success depends on being in class. Advance notice for missing class or private lessons must be given.
For Private lessons the teacher must be called first. Then call MATT office: 905 497 2220.
6. HOME PRACTICE : Teachers are reporting that some students are not practicing-reports to Director on progress are due this month. The Blog provides details of what to work on.
Let's make the best of this unique educational and affordable opportunity for your child's development. It's up to you, the PARENT to facilitate and support the home practice. If your child practices as required, progress is absolutely guaranteed!
7. OUR FINAL CONCERT June 13th, and important June rehearsals/ Year End Party dates are found in the new CALENDAR.
ALL Children will enjoy the thrill of performing together,, as a culmination of their Year's work. Make sure you invite friends and family. They will enjoy the childrens' performances!
