                             4. pull one short stroke down and then up again

TIPS for best sound:
 a) bow sits half way between bridge and fingerboard

  • All students have a 1st finger tape to help find the correct note, one tone from the open string
  • Left hand finger nails must be very short
  • fingers are " little hammers"- they do not open out, but stay rounded over the strings
  • finger tip presses firmly onto the tape with "cushy part of finger"
  • listen for clear tone (doh-ray)play DDDD EEEE- 0000-1111
  • repeat to make a beautiful sound
  • for good sound, pull the bow strongly -use half a bow length!
